Rancon is a village in the Haute-Vienne. It is set on a low hill just above the river Gartempe.
Just outside the village is an old viaduct which spans the river. (It is still complete but it is sadly neglected). There is also an old stone bridge - which some say is Roman - as well as a new road bridge.
The viaduct was a part of the Tram network that used to criss-cross the department.
