Limoges International Airport is both the airport for the department of the Haute-Vienne and for the region of the Limousin.
The airport is open 24h to both national and international traffic, for private and public flights, and for regular and seasonal flights.
For some years now, the amount of traffic through the airport has increased substantially. And a new terminal - built in 2005 - is testimony to the will of the Airport to be central to the development of the economic and tourtistic life of the city of Limoges, as well as to the department de la Haute-Vienne et de la Région Limousin.
In 2006 more than 376 000 passengers used the airport - making it the 25th most busy in France.
Since Septembre 2007 the company Airlinair has been had a centre of maintenance here.
History
The first Limoges airport was opened at Feytiat, on what is now the golf municipal, in 1933. The site was relocated in 1972 and the new terminal added in 2005.
