Lake Saint Pardoux is a man-made 333 hectare lake taking its name from the pretty little village of Saint Pardoux, set in the midst of stunning upland scenery.
Here, in the summer months, you can camp or hire holiday chalets, swim from a sandy beach (there are three), or do a variety of sporting activities: windsurfing, waterski-ing, fishing, tennis, kayaking….
(Note: From about mid-July onwards the lake has raised levels of algae; this is not nice stuff and it is best to avoid swimming in the lake from the middle of July. In any case, the beaches are packed in August and so the best time to go is in May and June. Also, from September 1st every year, as the beaches empty, so - sadly and rather inexplicably - the lake is also emptied! Why the French can't leave draining it until October or November I'll never know….. By draining the lake at the very start of September every year, they kill any late season tourism stone dead!)
