Geoff Bunn is a British artist who now lives and works in the Limousin region of France. He has been in some of the most important art galleries and shows. (See external links at the foot of this page).
Art
Geoff Bunn was born in Birmingham, England. He trained as an engineer but turned to art during the 1980's and spent several years training at college and university.
Although initially a painter, of "more or less abstract landscapes", during the 1990's - whilst travelling and working in Scandinavia - Bunn met with fellow artists, Marc Bergerman and Anna Hanski, and together they developed a form of "latter day conceptualism". Heavily involved in the theoretical evolution of this work - and inspired by environmental concerns - Bunn's main contribution to this 'Neither Conceptual' movement was in the form of his 'Unfound Art'. (Art work which consisted of various objects marked and placed in locations throughout Europe).
Recent Work
Bunn has since returned to painting, although primarily "as a hobby", and he now paints and produces what he calls 'Interior Landscapes' which are, in large part, of Scandinavian inspiration. These prints and paintings portray empty and often desolate spaces and are, so Bunn claims, heavily influenced by both Flemish artists and the work of Ingmar Bergman.
