Altillac

From the village of Altillac in the Correze department there is an excellent view over neighbouring Beaulieu sur Dordogne, due to the site's elevation above the river Dordogne. The river was once the main thoroughfare, and has formed the village in more ways than one - many of the houses have little sections of decorative pebbles found on the river's banks.

Altillac is the home of a well-known brand of French sweet - Pierrot Gourmand - which is still based in the village and employs more than a hundred staff.
